"
Music plays a big role in my creative process. I use it to shift states, get inspired by clever lyrics and sometimes I’ll make playlists to mirror the tone of a body of work I’m creating.
"
I keep notebooks filled with phrases, lyrics, mantras and quotes. When the right project comes along, I bring them to life!
"
Painting murals transformed my approach to art. It opened the door to collaboration and travel, but also allowed me to see typography as something that could be immersive and beautiful.
"
I like to switch between the clarity and impact of monochrome, and bright, saturated colour palettes, depending on the project. But as an eternal optimist, poppy, sunny colours suit my mood most of the time!
"
Experimentation is one of my favourite parts of being an artist. Some of my most enduring methods of making emerged from experimenting with different brushes, makeshift calligraphy nibs and ink.
"
Seeing my work large scale is energising. It leaps off the page to the wall and gains a new sense of power and presence.
"
Working on book covers is a nice retreat between painting large murals. I love to dive deep, immerse myself in the story and hide as many Easter eggs in the artwork as possible.
